Create and Manage Assignments

TrainingLink’s Assignments feature lets administrators assign training to one or more employees, track completion, and ensure credit is properly recorded—all in one place. It provides a simple way to manage CBTs, live training, and outside learning without relying on emails or spreadsheets.

To create an assignment, go to the Assignments tab on the Admin Dashboard. Click the button for one of the three options:

  • One assignment for One Employee
  • One Assignment for Multiple Employees
  • Multiple Assignments for One Employee

One assignment for One Employee

  1. Select the trainee from the dropdown menu
  2. Choose an assignment. You will see different dropdown menus depending on what training resources your agency has access to.
  3. Enter the training format, note to employee, due date, and optionally check the box(es) to send reminders.
  4. Click Submit.

One Assignment for Multiple Employees

  1. Choose an assignment. You will see different dropdown menus depending on what training resources your agency has access to.
  2. Enter the training format, note to employee, due date, and optionally check the box(es) to send reminders.
  3. Optionally check the box if you want to assign the assignment by department. Choose up to five sepected departments.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Optionally choose additional employees from the dropdown
  6. One the employees appear on the table they have been assigned. No further action needed.

Multiple Assignments for One Employee

  1. Select the employee
  2. Enter a due date, notes to the trainee, and check one or both boxes to send reminder emails.
  3. Click Submit
  4. If the employee currently has outstanding assignments you will see them in the table.
  5. Create additional assignments. Choose an assignment. You will see different dropdown menus depending on what training resources your agency has access to.
  6. Enter the training format, note to employee, due date, and optionally check the box(es) to send reminders.
  7. Click Submit.

 

Giving Credit for Assignments

Go to the Assignments tab on the Admin Dashboard. You will see two sub tabs: Pending Assignments, and Pending CBT and On-Demand Assignments.

Pending CBT and On-Demand Assignments: You do not need to do anything with these assignments. When the employee finishes a CBT or On-Demand assignment, the system will automatically give them credit for the assignment, and archive the assignmnt

All other Pending Assignments: When the employee completes an assignment, you must approve it.

  1. Click the Edit icon (it looks like a paper with pencil).
  2. Enter the Training Date and Hours.
  3. Check the Arcive box to arcive the assignment.
  4. Check the Add to Training Record box to add the completion to the employee's training record. BE SURE TO ENTER THE TRAINING DATA AND HOURS.
